Damascus, SANA- Within the framework of cooperation and strengthening relations between Syria and Tunisia, and in confirmation of the role of cinema in presenting a common human image and strengthening the bonds of understanding and rapprochement between peoples, the activities of the Tunisian Cinema Week kicked off on Tuesday at Dar al-Assad\u00a0 for Culture and Arts in Damascus.<\/p>\n

The Tunisian Cinema Week was held in cooperation between the Tunisian Embassy in Damascus and the General Cinema Corporation.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Tunisian Ambassador Mohamed Al-Mahdhabi said that this occasion represents a return to cultural activity at the official level between Tunisia and Syria.<\/p>\n

In turn, Director-General of the General Establishment for Cinema Murad Shahin pointed out to the fruitful cooperation between Damascus International Film Festival and Carthage Film Festival.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony was attended by diplomatic, artistic, cultural and media figures, during which the great artists Duraid Lahham, Mona Wassif and the late director Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid were honoured.<\/p>\n
