Paris, SANA- French railway company “SNCF” was subjected to a massive large-scale attack aimed at paralyzing its high-speed train network, hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games began in Paris.<\/p>\n
AFP quoted the company as saying in a statement \u201cWe will divert the route of some trains to the conventional line, but we will have to cancel a large number of routes\u201d, noting that “this situation could continue throughout the weekend at least until repairs can be made.”<\/p>\n
In turn, SNCF chairman Jean-Pierre Farandou said in a press conference: “The massive attack on the high-speed train network, causing disruptions in train traffic and having to cancel of trips throughout the weekend, will affect about 800,000 passengers.”<\/p>\n
London-based Eurostar noted that its train services between London and Paris had been disrupted by the attack, resulting in several flights being cancelled and others taking longer.<\/p>\n
The disruption has caused significant delays and cancellations of train services, greatly affecting passengers and athletes traveling for the international event. In response, SNCF, the state-owned railway operator, has urged travelers to postpone their journeys until further notice.<\/p>\n
