{"id":337419,"date":"2024-08-31T16:21:36","date_gmt":"2024-08-31T13:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/?p=337419"},"modified":"2024-08-31T16:26:31","modified_gmt":"2024-08-31T13:26:31","slug":"mikdad-syria-condemns-attempts-of-israeli-occupation-and-us-to-end-unrwas-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=337419","title":{"rendered":"Mikdad: Syria condemns attempts of Israeli occupation and US to end UNRWA&#8217;s mandate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister in the caretaker government, Fayssal Mikdad stressed Syria&#8217;s condemnation of attempts of Israeli occupation entity and the United States aimed at ending mandate of UNRWA, including by falsely accusing it of being a terrorist organization and thus stopping the important services it provides to the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This came during Mikdad\u2019s meeting with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini and the accompanying delegation on Saturday in Damascus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Mikdad-Lazzarini1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-337421 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Mikdad-Lazzarini1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mikdad reiterated Syria&#8217;s principled stance towards the Palestinian cause and its permanent commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, including the return of Palestinian refugees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He denounced the intentions of the Zionist occupation entity and its supporters, led by the US , to liquidate the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mikdad pointed out that the Syrian government provides all facilities to UNRWA to carry out its assigned tasks to ensure the continuation of a decent life for Palestinian refugees in Syria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lazzarini, for his part, expressed appreciation for the Syrian government\u2019s efforts to facilitate the UNRWA\u2019s work in Syria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He affirmed the need for mobilizing the necessary support to confront the various challenges facing the agency, including providing the necessary funding to fulfill its mandate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shaza Qreima<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister in the caretaker government, Fayssal Mikdad stressed Syria&#8217;s condemnation of attempts of Israeli occupation entity and the United States aimed at ending mandate of UNRWA, including by falsely accusing it of being a terrorist organization and thus stopping the important services it provides to the Palestinian people.
