Damascus, SANA- Syria and Belarus have discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture and ways of enhancing it.<\/p>\n
That came during a meeting Sunday that brought together Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Dr. Fayez al-Mikdad and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus, Yuri Sluka, and the accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n
Minister al-Mikdad shed light on the agreements signed between the two sides in the field of agriculture, especially the plant and veterinary quarantine and food industries and their operational programs.<\/p>\n
He underlined the need to sign a memorandum of understanding through which fertilizer needs can be secured in a stable and long-term manner, calling for forming technical committees from both sides to determine the forms of product exchanges according to a specific calendar so as to identify products available for export or exchange.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Sluka, for his part, expressed willingness to convey the ideas put forward to his country\u2019s government, underlining the importance of establishing a list of products available for trade exchange, forming technical teams and holding their meetings as soon as possible to develop a clear formula for cooperation.<\/p>\n
