Damascus, SANA-The Preparatory Committee for the National Dialogue Conference announced that Syria is in front of a historic opportunity to shape the future, through a responsible national dialogue that enhances the unity of Syrian men and women, and establishes a new phase of understanding, consensus, and construction.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe conference aims to discuss social, political, economic and governance issues, laying solid foundations for a future based on national consensus, justice, reform and comprehensive representation,\u201d Huda Atasi, member of the committee said in the first statement during a press conference held at the Information Ministry building on Thursday. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The statement added that the conference represents the first real gathering of Syrian men and women since seventy-five years, with the aim of consolidating the dialogue approach, discussing major national issues, and finding appropriate solutions.<\/p>\n

It pointed out the keenness to engage all spectrum of the Syrian people from various provinces and to ensure real participation that reflects societal and political diversity.<\/p>\n

The statement considered that the dialogue actually began from the moment of liberation, as the various Syrian provinces witnessed a broad societal movement, represented in hundreds of dialogue seminars and specialized meetings.<\/p>\n
