Brussels, SANA- The European Union(EU) affirmed on Monday its support for Syria and its contribution to reconstruction efforts and economic recovery, noting that it will continue to help Syrian people build a free and prosperous future.<\/p>\n
The EU said in a statement published on its official website that the ninth Brussels Conference, held today under the title “Standing with Syria: Meeting the Needs for a Successful Transition,” aims to mobilize international support for a comprehensive and peaceful transition process, collect pledges for humanitarian and non-humanitarian assistance, and ensure sustainable support for Syrians inside Syria and for host communities across the region, particularly Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, and Iraq.<\/p>\n
The statement added that “The fall of the Assad regime represented a historic moment and an opportunity for the Syrian people to determine the future of their country.”<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this critical period, the European Union stands with the Syrian people, both inside Syria and across the region, and will continue to support an inclusive, Syrian-led transition process, help address humanitarian needs, and contribute to economic recovery, reconstruction, and stabilization efforts to build a free, peaceful, and prosperous Syria.”the statement said.<\/p>\n
