Tartous, SANA Two death cases, being caused by\u00a0H1N1 (swine flu), were registered in the coastal\u00a0Tartous province, out of 15 suspected infected\u00a0cases, Director of Tartous Health Department Dr.\u00a0Ahmad Ammar said Sunday.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ammar told SANA that the H1N1 cases are with\u00a0normal limits, dismissing as rumors’ the spread\u00a0of the H1N1 to be a pandemic in the province.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that public hospitals in the\u00a0province have adopted all necessary measures on\u00a0isolating the patients and offering them the
\nmedicine.<\/p>\n
last month, two deaths confirmed in Sweida to have\u00a0been caused by H1N1 (swine flu) were registered in\u00a0the southern province, in addition to six suspect-infected cases, four of which have completely
\nrecovered.<\/p>\n
“There are 15 suspect-infected cases in the\u00a0province”,Dr. Ammar pointed out, stressing the\u00a0necessity of paying more attention to means of\u00a0protection particularly at gatherings and schools.<\/p>\n
Swine influenza (H1N1) is a respiratory disease of\u00a0pigs caused by type A influenza virus that\u00a0regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs.\u00a0Early in the spring of 2009, H1N1 flu virus was\u00a0first detected in Mexico.<\/p>\n
In a relevant context, Dr. Ammar pointed out that\u00a0the hepatitis A cases in the province are within\u00a0normal limits and about 54 cases were registered,\u00a052 of which have completely recovered, while two
\ncases are under treatment.<\/p>\n
He said that the health department continued its\u00a0efforts for adopting all necessary measures for\u00a0the implementation of the health conditions that\u00a0would preserve the public health and prevent the
\ninfection of communicable diseases and\u00a0implementation of health condition with regard to\u00a0permanent surveillance of the residents of the\u00a0make-shift centers and the schools in the\u00a0province.<\/p>\n
