Homs, SANA- The New Clock Square in central Homs witnessed on Monday evening a public event titled “Loyalty and Steadfastness.”\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This gathering commemorated the sixth anniversary of the passing of Martyr Abdul Baset al-Sarout, often referred to as the “Nightingale and Symbol of the Syrian Revolution,” and also marked the anniversary of the siege of Homs.<\/p>\n

Thousands of activists and admirers of Martyr al-Sarout gathered in the square, carrying the Syrian Revolution flag and photographs of the martyr, who played a prominent role in the popular movement against the deposed regime.<\/p>\n

Revolutionary songs and chants calling for freedom and honouring the memory of the martyrs filled the air.<\/p>\n

Participants also affirmed their commitment to the martyrs’ path and to conveying their heroism to the rising generation, so it may serve as a guiding light for their present and future.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Several participants spoke to SANA reporter during the event. Media activist Karam al-Sibai emphasized the importance of continuing the struggle to fully achieve the revolution’s goals, stating that the blood of the martyrs, including al-Sarout, would not be in vain, as the victory he wished for has been realized.<\/p>\n

Al-Sibai added, “This anniversary is a joy for all Syrians with the victory of the Syrian Revolution. We also followed his will after victory and liberation, by prostrating to Almighty God in the New Clock Square.”<\/p>\n

Salem al-Haraki, another participant, said, “We are participating in this event to embody our loyalty and determination to continue the path taken by Martyr al-Sarout for the freedom and dignity of the Syrian people. He played a crucial role in preserving the revolution in resilient Homs, the capital of the Syrian Revolution.”<\/p>\n

He further noted that al-Sarout’s memory remains in the hearts, and his songs and ideas continue to be a source of inspiration for future generations in their pursuit of freedom and dignity.<\/p>\n
