According to the UN News website, Guterres stated\u2014through a message delivered by his spokesperson St\u00e9phane Dujarric\u2014that he remains deeply concerned about the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
UN official strongly appealed to all parties to avoid further internationalization of the conflict, stressing that \u201cany additional military actions could have severe consequences\u2014not only for the parties involved but for the region as a whole and for international peace and security.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Secretary-General condemned the \u201ctragic and unnecessary loss of civilian life and injuries,\u201d as well as the damage to homes and critical civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n
He reiterated that the UN Charter remains the foundational framework for protecting people from the horrors of war, and called on all member states to fully adhere to international law, including international humanitarian law.<\/p>\n
