Damascus, SANA-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Marwan al-Halabi, and the Charge\u00a0d’\u00a0affairs\u00a0of the\u00a0Embassy\u00a0of\u00a0Azerbaijan Republic\u00a0in\u00a0Damascus, Mr. Elnur Shahhuseynov have discussed avenues of cooperation in higher education, scientific research, knowledge exchange, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, both sides agreed to enhance collaboration in the fields of digital transformation and cybersecurity, raise the standards and accreditation of Syrian universities, reactivate scholarship programs between the two countries, and promote joint scientific research, relevant studies, international publication, knowledge exchange, and workshops.<\/p>\n

Minister al-Halabi affirmed the Ministry\u2019s readiness to hold bilateral online meetings and establish a communication and coordination committee to organize cooperation efforts.<\/p>\n

For his part, Shahhuseynov highlighted opportunities for collaboration in expertise exchange, development of electronic systems, and pursuit of international accreditation. He also noted that Azerbaijan has allocated 25 scholarships for Syrian students across various disciplines\u2014particularly in medicine, engineering, and technology.<\/p>\n
