Deir Ezzor, SANA – Director of Health department in Deir Ezzor Dr. Youssef al-Sattam told a SANA reporter that the SAMS team, which includes 13 doctors, visited Deir Ezzor Governorate after the association held its first international medical conference in Damascus last Friday.<\/p>\n

He noted that the medical team reviewed the health situation in the governorate and conducted medical activities, including medical examinations in clinics at the Deir Ezzor National Hospital and performing 60 surgical procedures in various specialties, including 30 gastroscopies.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. al-Sattam explained that the SAMS team’s activities included holding a medical workshop that doctors from the governorate’s National Hospital and other health institutions participated in it. He pointed out that the operations performed and medical examinations for number of patients visiting the hospital included digestive, thoracic, and cardiac specialties.<\/p>\n

Dr. Asaad Jubair, an anesthesia consultant with the SAMS team, described the medical situation in Deir Ezzor as painful, he emphasized the importance of supporting medical specialties at universities.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the efforts made by the team which includes Syrian doctors residing abroad, to support patients across Syria’s various governorates, including Deir Ezzor, which faces significant challenges in the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n
