Yerevan, SANA- Speaker of the people’s Assembly\u00a0Mohammad Jihad al-Laham met Levan Sargsyan, Armenian Ambassador of Special missions, special\u00a0envoy of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied with a number of Members of\u00a0the Armenian National Assembly (ANA) and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Manasaryan.<\/p>\n

Laham, who met the Armenian President Sargsyan and\u00a0other senior officials earlier Wednesday, chairs a parliamentary delegation to a\u00a0political forum on combating the crime of genocide on the centennial anniversary of the\u00a0Armenian genocide.<\/p>\n

“Armenian government and people keep close eye on\u00a0the latest developments and events in Syria”, ambassador Sargsyan said, expressing\u00a0confidence in Syrian peoples’ will to defeat terrorism.<\/p>\n

For their part, members of ANA condemned the\u00a0terrorism crimes perpetrated by the regional- western-backed Takfiri terrorist organizations.<\/p>\n

They expressed determination to continue their\u00a0efforts on all parliamentary, regional and international levels to divulge the international\u00a0involvement in supporting terrorism in Syria and unveiling the reality of the terrorists\u00a0who are perpetrating the ugliest barbaric acts of killing and intimidation against the\u00a0Syrian people.<\/p>\n

The Assembly’s members also condemned Turkey’s\u00a0flagrant interference in Syria’s internal affairs through embracing the terrorists,\u00a0facilitating their passing across its borders and offering all possible support to them.<\/p>\n

They touched upon the necessity of putting\u00a0pressures on the countries which are involved in supporting terrorism to stop violating the\u00a0international law, norms and charters.<\/p>\n

The International Forum ‘Against the Crime of\u00a0Genocide’, organized by Armenia in commemoration of the centennial of the Armenian\u00a0Genocide, was opened at Yerevan’s Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.<\/p>\n

The Forum has brought together parliamentary and\u00a0governmental delegations from various countries across the world.<\/p>\n

The participants expressed rejection of the crime\u00a0against humanity committed by the Ottoman Empire against the innocent Armenian people in\u00a01915, killing more than 1.5 million and displacing 1.5 million others.<\/p>\n
