{"id":40114,"date":"2015-05-11T16:16:52","date_gmt":"2015-05-11T13:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=40114"},"modified":"2023-01-08T17:13:42","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T15:13:42","slug":"osi-national-reconciliation-committee-must-attend-international-conferences-on-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=40114","title":{"rendered":"Osi: National Reconciliation Committee must attend international conferences on crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Head of the National Reconciliation Committee at the People&#8217;s Assembly Omar Osi said that the Committee represents a large section of the Syrian people, and therefore must have a presence in dialogue sessions, particularly in international conferences.<\/p>\n<p>During a Committee meeting on Monday, Osi criticized what he described as a &#8220;marginalization&#8221; of the committee, noting that UN Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura met representatives of the opposition and the government&#8217;s supporters, but didn&#8217;t meet with the Committee, calling for holding a meeting with de Mistura after the conclusion of the meetings in Geneva.<\/p>\n<p>He also called on Committee members to pursue diplomatic efforts and contact European parliaments to urge them to pressure their governments that continue to support terrorists in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Other members said that since its inception, the Committee didn&#8217;t achieve anything and that it failed to assume its intended role, calling for holding meetings with the Foreign and Expatriates Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Hazem Sabbagh<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA \u2013 Head of the National Reconciliation Committee at the People&#8217;s Assembly Omar Osi said that the Committee represents a large section of the Syrian people, and therefore must have a presence in dialogue sessions, particularly in international conferences.
