Tehran, SANA Iranian and Iraqi Presidents Hassan\u00a0Rouhani and Fouad Massoum stressed the necessity of realizing security and stability in\u00a0Syria, Iraq and Yemen and in the whole region through cooperating in fighting terrorism\u00a0with all its forms.<\/p>\n
Talks during the meeting touched upon significant\u00a0regional issues, including the situation in Syria, the deteriorated situation in Yemen and\u00a0the necessity of offering humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, Rouhani said in a joint\u00a0press conference with his Iraqi counterpart in Tehran on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Iranian President asserted that the\u00a0discussions, also, dealt with the danger of terrorism on the region and the necessity of\u00a0collectively combating terrorism, but not expelling the terrorists from Iraq as they will\u00a0later gather in Syria, pointing out that those who believe that they are able to use\u00a0terrorism as a tool to achieve their goals in the region are mistaken,<\/p>\n
Rouhani expressed Iran’s readiness to offer any\u00a0assistance that the Iraqi government demanded in facing terrorism, asserting that the\u00a0security of Iraq is very important, as Iraq’s security is Iran’s security and\u00a0stability.<\/p>\n
Rouhani expressed support to Iraq’s territorial\u00a0integrity, asserting that the Iraqi people are the ones who plan their future.<\/p>\n
For his part, the Iraqi president pointed out that\u00a0the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) endangers the whole region not only Iraq,\u00a0adding that the priority now for fighting terrorism in Syria as we are fighting it\u00a0in Iraq. Terrorists cannot be allowed to govern Syria.<\/p>\n
