Lattakia, SANA \u2013 Interior Minister Gen. Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar hailed the steadfastness of the people of al-Heffeh in Lattakia in the face of terrorist groups.<\/p>\n
During his visit to the town on Friday, al-Shaar stressed that preserving Syria\u2019s identity, land, and flag is a national duty for all the Syrians, and that the actual purpose of the events taking place in Syria is to fragment the region into small sectarian and bickering city-states to achieve Israel\u2019s interests and justify its presence as a Jewish state in the region.<\/p>\n
For his part, Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khidr al-Salem said that the locals of al-Heffeh are an example of the nature of the Syrian society in terms of its tolerance and friendliness.<\/p>\n
In turn, Pastor of Saint Michael’s Church, Father Michael Hanna Nasseir, said the plots concocted against Syria aim at eradicating its history, legacy, economy, and civilization.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by a number of political, religious, and civil figures.<\/p>\n
