{"id":40829,"date":"2015-05-16T12:18:20","date_gmt":"2015-05-16T09:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=40829"},"modified":"2023-01-08T13:31:12","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T11:31:12","slug":"republic-cycling-championship-kicks-off-in-tartous-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=40829","title":{"rendered":"Republic Cycling Championship kicks off in Tartous Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tartous, SANA Nearly 51 cyclists representing\u00a0Damascus, its countryside, Homs, Hama, Aleppo,\u00a0Lattakia, Sweida and Tartous and the local\u00a0Administration Board took part in the Republic\u00a0Cycling Championship for men, youth and under-23\u00a0categories which kicked off in Tartous on\u00a0Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Cyclist Nazir al-Jaser ranked first in the 1st\u00a0phase of the championship which included of 40-km\u00a0single for men on Tartous-Safita route, Yalmaz\u00a0Habash came second and Hazem al-Husseinj won the\u00a0third place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cycling2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-40833 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cycling2-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"cycling2\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cycling2-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cycling2.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the youth category, cyclist Tarek al-Mawkaa\u00a0ranked first, Ahmad al-Akhras came second and\u00a0Zakariya Nizha was third.<\/p>\n<p>In the under-23 category, cyclist Omar al-Halabi\u00a0won the first position, Qudwan Bunasir came second\u00a0and Ali Ali was third.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Syrian Arab Cycling Federation\u00a0(SACF) Mohammad Khedur told SANA that the cycling\u00a0championship has been affected by the crisis ,\u00a0asserting that the SACF continued to organize the\u00a0races to show the Syrian people&#8217;s steadfastness<br \/>\nand their support to their leadership and army\u00a0against those who attempted to destroy Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the Championship stressed that\u00a0organizing such championships during the crisis is\u00a0an evidence of the Syrian people&#8217;s rejection of\u00a0surrendering and an assertion of their support to\u00a0their army and leadership.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cyclying1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-40835 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cyclying1-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"cyclying1\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cyclying1-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cyclying1.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>General Sport Union in Tartous city on Friday held\u00a0a festival of long-distance swimming with the\u00a0participation of 65 swimmers from Damascus,\u00a0Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Lattakia,\u00a0Tartous.<\/p>\n<p>H.
