Damascus, SANA, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi\u00a0reaffirmed Sunday the governments’ keenness to provide all services and basic needs to the locals\u00a0of Raqqa province in north-central Syria.<\/p>\n
He was speaking during a meeting with members of\u00a0the People’s Assembly representing Raqqa on Sunday.<\/p>\n
People of Raqqa have been suffering a lot since\u00a0the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) spread in their province in 2013. The terrorist\u00a0organization committed the ugliest of crimes against the civilians, including beheading,\u00a0mutilation and crucifixion.<\/p>\n
It has intimidated the residents by all means to\u00a0quash any signs or attempts of protest.<\/p>\n
The government, the Premier said, is committed, as\u00a0it has been since the suffering started, to supply Raqqa residents with all livelihood needs\u00a0and food provisions and continue paying salaries to the state workers there.<\/p>\n
The government has been careful to keep\u00a0electricity, water and health services running in Raqqa and paid close attention to the agricultural\u00a0and animal sectors in order to reduce the locals’ suffering as much as possible, a matter\u00a0that was appreciated by the MPs during the meeting.<\/p>\n
