Damascus, SANA Marking the 15th anniversary of\u00a0passing away President Hafez al-Assad, Founder of\u00a0modern Syria, the Syrian people remember his\u00a0undaunted stances and his belief in the victory of\u00a0those who have rights and justice issues over\u00a0their enemies whatever their powers are and derive\u00a0from his achievements their resilience and power\u00a0in the critical stage for restoring Syria’s\u00a0pivotal role.<\/p>\n
Confronting a war for the 5th successive years\u00a0against a blind Takfiri terrorism which kills\u00a0innocents and destroys their lives, the Syrians\u00a0recall Late President’s warnings of those who\u00a0claim of believing in Islam, distort its\u00a0principles and kill whole families and extend\u00a0their hands to foreign sides and their clients and\u00a0to the US regimes to get paid and armed to betray\u00a0their homeland.<\/p>\n
In the face of the aggression against the country,\u00a0the Syrian’s are inspired by the Late President’s\u00a0ideas and thoughts on the necessity of rebuilding\u00a0humans as “human is the goal and basis of life”.<\/p>\n
The Syrian people are inspired to restore Syria’s\u00a0role and positions outlined by the Late\u00a0President’s Correctionist Movement in 1970.<\/p>\n
Laying the foundation of new era in the history of\u00a0Syria and its political, economic, social and\u00a0cultural rise, the Movement sought to unify the\u00a0political parties in the country under the\u00a0National Progressive Front in 1972, endorsing a\u00a0new constitution of the country in 1973 and in the\u00a0same Syria leading the Libration war of October
\nagainst Israel to liberate the occupied Syrian\u00a0territories in Golan which shattered the myth of\u00a0invincible Israeli supremacy.<\/p>\n
After 15-year of his death, the Syrians are\u00a0convinced that building state institutions and\u00a0dogmatic army were the main bases of Syria’s\u00a0steadfastness in the current crisis splitting the\u00a0country and its capability to confront the\u00a0terrorists who came to it from more than 80 states\u00a0across the world, in parallel with ensuring\u00a0various food and livelihood needs for the citizens\u00a0despite of the unjust economic siege and the 5-year war on the country.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, Syria vows to continue late\u00a0president’s firm and deep-rooted process and\u00a0national principles, voicing determination to\u00a0restore the usurped legitimate Arab rights and\u00a0showing rejection to surrender or yield to\u00a0threats.
\nThe late President was born on 6 October 1930 in\u00a0al- Qardaha in the countryside of the coastal\u00a0Lattakia province.<\/p>\n
After graduating from high school, he joined the\u00a0Syrian Armed Forces in 1952. He graduated in 1955,\u00a0after which he was commissioned a lieutenant in\u00a0the Syrian Air Force. He was assigned as Minister\u00a0of Defense in 1966 and was commissioned a
\nLieutenant General in 1968.<\/p>\n
He was Prime Minister from 1970 to 1971, President\u00a0of Syria from 1971 to 2000, Regional Secretary of\u00a0the Regional Command of the Syrian Regional Branch
\nand Secretary General of the Ba’ath Party from\u00a01971 to 2000. He died on 10 June 2000.<\/p>\n
