{"id":47888,"date":"2015-07-10T13:02:56","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T10:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=47888"},"modified":"2015-07-11T10:21:09","modified_gmt":"2015-07-11T07:21:09","slug":"500-families-of-working-class-martyrs-honored-in-damascus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/?p=47888","title":{"rendered":"500 families of working class martyrs honored in Damascus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA &#8211; The General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) honored on Thursday 500 families of workers who were killed due to terrorist acts, during a Ramadan Iftar (break-fasting) banquet held at Sahara hotel in Damascus.<\/p>\n<p>The families of the martyrs took great pride in their relatives, expressing their belief that &#8220;their blood will line the way of victory for the future generations, who will make Syria better than it was before.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-47891 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.2-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"martyrs honored.2\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.2-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.2.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&#8220;I am going to bring up my children on loving the homeland and being its staunch supporters,&#8221; Reem al-Saleh, a martyr&#8217;s wife said in a statement to SANA.<\/p>\n<p>Mazen Abu Hilal, a martyr&#8217;s son also said &#8220;I am proud of my father&#8217;s martyrdom, and I will continue my study to learn and serve my country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Taymaa Hamada, a daughter of a martyr from the Union of the Chemical Industries Workers in Damascus delivered a speech in the name of the martyrs&#8217; families in which she said &#8220;every Syrian citizen is like a solider fighting in his\/her position,&#8221; affirming that the martyrs will remain &#8220;crowns on our heads.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We, Syria&#8217;s children, pledge that we will not give up or yield to anyone, and will go all the way until attaining victory,&#8221; Hamada added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-47890 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.1-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"martyrs honored.1\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.1-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/martyrs-honored.1.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>GFTU chairman Jamal al-Qaderi also delivered a speech at the honoring ceremony in which he said &#8220;We are honored by all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland&#8217;s sake.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Premier Wael al-Halaqi, for his part, said in a statement on the sidelines of the banquet that the martyrs of the working class were &#8220;the first among those who took up arms alongside the army,&#8221; hailing their great role in enhancing the steadfastness of the country through building the national economy.<\/p>\n<p>Reem \/H.Said<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Damascus, SANA &#8211; The General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) honored on Thursday 500 families of workers who were killed due to terrorist acts, during a Ramadan Iftar (break-fasting) banquet held at Sahara hotel in Damascus.
