Rome, SANA The National Forum for Peace in Syria\u00a0called for restoring diplomatic relations between Italy and Syria and for lifting the unfair\u00a0economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian people.<\/p>\n
Restoring diplomatic relations between Syria and\u00a0Italy is an urgent need at this critical phase for security coordination and cooperation in\u00a0light of the daily terrorist threat against Europe and the countries of the region,\u00a0the Forum stressed in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Forum called on the Italian government and
\nparliament to work for ending the suffering of the Syrian people, asserting that Italy was always
\na bridge for cooperation and dialogue in the Middle East and it could not play a pivotal
\nrole in solving the crisis in Syria in light of severing diplomatic relations with it.<\/p>\n
It also urged the Italian government to review its\u00a0stances and mistakes towards the war in Syria, holding it and the EU responsible for\u00a0participating in the war through taking part in the unfair economic sanctions imposed on the\u00a0Syrian people.<\/p>\n
The Forum concentrates its efforts in the media\u00a0field on conveying documented news and information, unveiling misleading and surpassing\u00a0media blackout towards the crisis in Syria through a website belonging to the forum and\u00a0social media.<\/p>\n
The forum also holds meeting and lectures in all\u00a0the Italian cities, supporting some local Syrian projects and the civil community\u00a0initiatives.<\/p>\n
The form is an Italian work group. It was\u00a0established through communication and cooperation network between independent persons, associations\u00a0and institutions of the civil community in Italy. The Forum aims at supporting all spectrums\u00a0of the Syrian people.<\/p>\n
