Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said the Health Ministry is exerting all efforts to upgrade the nursing career and increase the number of graduates of nursing collages and schools to meet the needs of the health institutions.<\/p>\n

During a celebration of Arab Nurse Day, held at the Eye Surgery Hospital in Damascus, Yazigi pointed out that the number of nursing staff in Syria is more than 48,000 nurses.<\/p>\n

\"Health<\/a>He hailed the relentless efforts which Syria’s nurses have exerted during the ongoing crisis, whose repercussions have badly damaged the health sector in general.<\/p>\n

For his part, Yamin Ahmad, Director of the Nursing Department in Syria, highlighted the high-level qualifications of the nursing collages graduates, saying those well-qualified cadres are highly contributing to developing the nursing sector and health services.<\/p>\n

\"Health<\/a>A number of nurses were honored during the celebration, whose remarkable skills and special efforts in providing health care to patients were appreciated.<\/p>\n
