Moscow, SANA \u2013 The Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov, said that Moscow has started a number of practical steps aimed at holding the Geneva 3 conference on solving the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Novosti news agency on Wednesday, Bogdanov stressed that Geneva 3 is not a standalone meeting, but rather a negotiation process that requires the presence of political will, patience, and time.<\/p>\n
He said the outcome of the meetings held with the Syrian opposition in Moscow and Cairo should form a basis for negotiations with the Syrian government under the Geneva 3 process, and that there’s a general tendency now towards unifying dialogue processes.<\/p>\n
He said an international communication group comprising the international \u201cplayers\u201d should start activities next November, and this could contribute to stabilizing the inter-Syrian negotiations.<\/p>\n
