Moscow, SANA- The Russian President\u2019s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed on Friday with U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Michael Ratni in Moscow prospects of a political settlement in Syria.<\/p>\n
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that a wide range of issues related to peace efforts in Syria were discussed during the meeting. Counterterrorism efforts, the ministry added, also figured prominently.<\/p>\n
The Russian Foreign Ministry has been holding intensive consultations with various Syrian parties and international players on the crisis in Syria since the start of this month.<\/p>\n
The Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed on Wednesday Russia’s support for Syria and the importance of building a wide front to combat terrorism with international and regional participation, including Syria.<\/p>\n
