Havana, SANA- Director of the Middle East and\u00a0North Africa Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Rolando Riccihio expressed his country’s\u00a0rejection to the foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs and its support to the\u00a0political solution to the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n

In a ceremony held Tuesday night by the Syrian\u00a0Embassy in Havana marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between\u00a0the two countries, Ricciho reiterated that only the Syrian people has the right to determine\u00a0their future under the Syrian current legitimate leadership led by President Bashar al-Assad.<\/p>\n

Renewing his country’s condemnation of the crimes\u00a0perpetrated by the terrorists against the Syrian people, the Cuban official expressed his\u00a0government’s rejection of all attempts to undermine Syria’s independence, sovereignty and\u00a0territorial integrity.<\/p>\n

He hailed the remarkable historical relations\u00a0between the two countries anchored by the Late President Hafez al-Assad and former President\u00a0Fidel Castro.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Arab-Cuban Friendship Association\u00a0Rodrigo Alvarez Cambras, in turn, said Cuba will always support the Syrian people’s right in\u00a0defending their sovereignty and independence in the face of the war waged against their country
\nsince more than 4 years and calls for stopping it.<\/p>\n

Cambras appreciated Syria’s solidarity and\u00a0unlimited support to Cuba in the international circles, hailing its stance calling for lifting\u00a0the US unfair siege against the Cuban people.<\/p>\n

In Statement to SANA correspondent in Havana,\u00a0Ramon Labanino, one of the Five Cubans, who spent more than 15 years in American jails on spying\u00a0charges and were recently released, voiced support to Syria, leadership and people, in the\u00a0face of the global terrorism backed by the US and its allies.<\/p>\n

Syria is targeted today because it is set an\u00a0example of civilized and humanitarian coexistence and because it has supported all Arab and world\u00a0liberation movements, mainly the Palestinian cause, Chairman of the International Committee\u00a0for solidarity with the Five Cuban Graciela Ramirez said.<\/p>\n

Ramirez held the world imperialism and Israel\u00a0responsible for manufacturing terrorism in Syria and the world.<\/p>\n

For his part, Charge d’Affairs of the Syrian\u00a0Embassy in Cuba, Dr. Louay al-Awajy hailed the historical relations between the two countries,\u00a0asserting that the only beneficiary of undermining Syria’s resistant role and demolishing\u00a0its institutions and army is the Israeli entity.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was concluded by screening a\u00a0documentary film highlighting close ties between\u00a0Syria and Cuba.<\/p>\n
