Damascus, SANA-Participants in the second day of the First Syrian Conference for Banks and \u00a0Funding Small Projects called for changing the role of the charities from providing a partial \u00a0solution to the problem of poverty to providing job opportunities and the required funding for \u00a0the small projects.<\/p>\n

The conference was launched on Tuesday at Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel under the title of \u201cI \u00a0will support my Country and Start Working from Now\u201d with the participation of representatives of \u00a0public and private banks, microfinance institutions, insurance companies and other service corporations.<\/p>\n

Participants in the conference stressed that solving the problem of poverty can be done through funding small and micro projects, increasing production, ensuring self-sufficiency, funding all segments of society with suitable guarantees, establishing a council of experts, supporting small projects without restrictions and the partnership between the public and private sectors to combat poverty and unemployment, in addition to curbing the immigration.<\/p>\n

They called upon the public and private banks to play their social role in a way that will be up to the challenges imposed by the current crisis in Syria.\"Banks<\/a><\/p>\n

Assistant CEO for Credit & Branches at al-Baraka Bank Omar Barhamji highlighted the role of the small projects in the developing countries in curbing poverty, halting the brain drain, achieving the lasting development, preserving traditional industries and developing the countryside.<\/p>\n

In turn, Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission Naila Zakaria made a presentation on the measures adopted by the Commission for facing the current crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n

Participants in the conference also stressed the role of the insurance companies in enhancing the economy through reducing the losses and attracting capitals.<\/p>\n

They shed light on the importance of adopting ideas of the youths and strengthening their links with their society through finding job opportunities for them and helping them discover the suitable project and to start it as the beginning is usually the most difficult step in any project.<\/p>\n
