Moscow, SANA-Moscow will continue supplying\u00a0weapons to Syria in accordance with the international law, Speaker of the Russian State\u00a0Duma, Sergey Naryshkin has said.<\/p>\n
“Russia has carried out and is still carrying out\u00a0weapons supplies to the Syrian army\u2026 Russia never hid it\u2026 We have been doing it and we will\u00a0continue doing it in accordance with the norms of international law,” Naryshkin said at the\u00a0session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in\u00a0Europe (PAOSCE) in Mongolia’s Ulan Bator.<\/p>\n
“We urge the whole international community to unite\u00a0in this struggle against the Islamic State terrorism and of course, to use these forces in\u00a0this fight, first of all the \u00a0Syrian army,” he stressed.<\/p>\n
The ISIS would have already felt more comfortable\u00a0on the Mediterranean Sea coast and moved further if the Syrian army had not been an\u00a0efficient force, Naryshkin said.<\/p>\n
In a statement to journalists, Naryshkin said that\u00a0it is possible that the United States wanted to destabilize the Middle East deliberately so\u00a0that refugees should flow to Europe, saying “It is clear for everyone that the United States is\u00a0the ideologist behind the aforementioned interventions.”<\/p>\n
“I am not a supporter of conspiracy theories but\u00a0the question arises by itself – Is Europe the final aim of those destabilizing the situation in\u00a0North Africa and Middle East over the last years with such maniacal persistence?” he\u00a0wondered.<\/p>\n
He noted that “Someone has possibly proposed it,\u00a0knowing that flows of refugees, those poor people running from death, would head to\u00a0EU’s prosperous countries.”<\/p>\n
He wondered..”Have many European political leaders\u00a0sincerely talked about the reasons of that crisis, the flow of refugees that is practically\u00a0overwhelming their countries right now?” “No, old Europe prefers to keep silent, with rare\u00a0exception.”<\/p>\n
Earlier on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir\u00a0Putin stressed that Russia has and will continue providing military and technical assistance to\u00a0Syria for combating terrorism which has become a top priority, calling on other countries to do the\u00a0same.<\/p>\n
