New York, SANA Austrian Foreign Minister\u00a0Sebastian Kurz said the solution to the refugees crisis in Europe should be through uprooting the\u00a0problem by finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria and fighting the terrorist\u00a0organizations.<\/p>\n
Kurz’s remarks were quoted by the Lebanese\u00a0National News Agency following his meeting with Lebanese Foreign and Expatriates Minister Gebran\u00a0Bassil in New York on Saturday.<\/p>\n
“First we should try to find a peaceful solution\u00a0in Syria,” he said, adding that the second thing is doing whatever necessary for fighting the\u00a0Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and all other terrorist groups.<\/p>\n
Third, Kurz said, there is need for more\u00a0humanitarian aid in the region, particularly in
\nSyria and the neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
Putting the number of refugees from Syria, Iraq\u00a0and Afghanistan this year at over 100,000, Kurz affirmed that the solution is not through\u00a0receiving more refugees but through addressing the\u00a0roots of the crisis, which serves the interest of\u00a0the European Union as well as Lebanon, through which many of the refugees reach Europe.<\/p>\n
