Caracas, SANA- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro\u00a0expressed his country’s support to the Russian efforts for combating terrorism in Syria\u00a0by launching airstrikes against terrorist organizations.<\/p>\n
“We in Venezuela support Russian Federation’s\u00a0decision as a way for undermining the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist\u00a0organization”, Maduro said in a radio and TV\u00a0interview on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Russian airstrikes came upon the request of\u00a0President Bashar al-Assad, Maduro said, while the US-led international alliance airstrikes have\u00a0been carried out without the permission of the legitimate government in Damascus, he added.<\/p>\n
The Venezuelan president stressed that the Russian\u00a0efforts are the accurate way for undermining and uprooting terrorism and the ISIS terrorist\u00a0organization or the neo-Fascism which has appeared in the Arab world, warning that the\u00a0spread of this terrorist organization constitutes\u00a0a humanitarian catastrophe.<\/p>\n
In an earlier meeting Wednesday, with Foreign and\u00a0Expatriate Minister Walid al-Moallem in New York, Maduro expressed his country’s full\u00a0solidarity with Syria and its legitimate\u00a0leadership in facing terrorism.<\/p>\n
