Damascus, SANA – Minister of Awqaf (Religious\u00a0Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed\u00a0stressed the deep-rooted ties linking the two peoples of\u00a0Syria and Iran and hailing the Iranian people’s support to Syria in its war against terrorism.<\/p>\n

During his meeting with a delegation of the Al\u00a0Mustafa International University in Iran headed by\u00a0its Rector Ali-Reza A’arafi, al-Sayyed said\u00a0that the visit is a chance to thank and appreciate\u00a0the Iranian government and people for backing\u00a0Syria while facing of the conspiracy since five years.<\/p>\n

A’arafi, in turn, reiterated his country’s\u00a0supportive stance to the Syrian people in facing\u00a0the terrorist Takfiri ideology, appreciating the\u00a0endeavors of the Syrian clerks in enhancing the original discourse of Islam.<\/p>\n

He stressed the necessity of upgrading the\u00a0scientific cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Minister al-Sayyed presented a copy of the\u00a0standard version of “Quran” to the visiting\u00a0delegation.<\/p>\n

In the same context, Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Amer Mardini also discussed with A’arafi prospects of cooperation and the possibility of opening a branch of the University in Syria.<\/p>\n

Minister Mardini underlined the importance of enhancing scientific relations between Syria and Iran and benefiting from the scientific advancements and progress made by the Iranian universities in the various applied and human sciences.<\/p>\n

For his part, A’arafi said opening a new branch of the university in Syria can be considered, noting that the University already has sixty branches spread in the world.<\/p>\n

A’arafi also met Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, who lauded Iran’s support for Syria, while A’arafi reiterated Iran’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people in confronting terrorism.<\/p>\n
