Damascus, SANA- In coincidence with the\u00a0International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25th, the UN\u00a0Population Fund (UNFPA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Information kicked off the\u00a0national comprehensive campaign for eliminating violence against women under the motto\u00a0Educating women generates peace .<\/p>\n
The campaign which started on November 25th will\u00a0end on December 10th which coincides with the International Human Rights Day.<\/p>\n
UNFPA Media and communication officer in Damascus\u00a0Kinda Katranji, pointed out that the campaign sheds light on the positive effects of\u00a0teaching women in Syria, asserting that educating women is one of the Fund’s main\u00a0goals.<\/p>\n
Katranji also stressed that the campaign, which\u00a0was held with participation of 7 local partners, aims at reflecting a clear image of the\u00a0unity and solidarity among the Syrian people through a series of cultural\u00a0activities seeking for enhancing the harmony and social integrity among the Syrian\u00a0during the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n
She said that the fund will held about 180\u00a0activities in a number of villages and towns in Damascus, its countryside, Aleppo, Homs,\u00a0Hama, Lattakia and Tartous provinces.<\/p>\n
The activities will include theatrical and music\u00a0shows and screening films in addition to awareness workshops.<\/p>\n
