Tehran, SANA- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Ali Khamenei denounced vehemently Saudi regime’s execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.<\/p>\n
Saudi regime on Saturday announced the execution of 47 people, including Sheikh al-Nimr on different alleged
\ncharges.<\/p>\n
Khamenei called on the international community to shed light on this crime and other crimes committed by Al- Saud
\nin Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, clarifying that al-Nimr was criticizing the unfair practices of Al-Saud not inciting the Saudi people on the armed practices or hatching the conspiracies covertly.<\/p>\n
“The execution of al-Nimr is a political mistake committed by Al-Saud government,” he said, slamming those who\u00a0alleged supporting democracy, freedom and human rights and while they support the Saudi regime that shed the blood of an innocent person just for criticizing it.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, a number of Iranians stormed the Saudi Embassy in Tehran, as other protesters organized a sit-in in
\nfront of the Saudi Consulate in Mashhad city in response to the execution of Sheikh al-Nimr.<\/p>\n
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari slated this crime, saying ” Saudi government supports
\nterrorists and takfiri extremists, while executing and suppressing critics inside the country.”<\/p>\n
Earlier Sunday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said in a statement he is \u201cdeeply dismayed\u201d about the Saudi
\nArabia\u2019s executions of 47 people, including Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.<\/p>\n
Ban said in a statement, quoted by his spokesman, ..Sheik al-Nimr and a number of the other prisoners executed had been convicted following trials that raised serious concerns over the nature of the charges and the fairness of the
\nprocess.<\/p>\n
