Tehran, SANA- Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister\u00a0for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir\u00a0Abdullahian discussed in a phone call with the UN\u00a0Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura the\u00a0latest political developments in Syria.<\/p>\n
According to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA),\u00a0Abdullahian described de Mistura’s efforts to\u00a0support a political solution for the crisis in\u00a0Syria as important.<\/p>\n
He criticized the presence of terrorist figures in\u00a0Geneva talks and their attempt to participate in\u00a0the talks.<\/p>\n
Abdullahian affirmed the importance of sending\u00a0humanitarian aid to all Syrian areas, mainly to\u00a0the locals of Kafraya and al-Foua towns which are\u00a0besieged by the terrorist organizations.<\/p>\n
For his part, de Mistura appreciated the efforts\u00a0made by Iran to counter terrorism and its support\u00a0for a political settlement of the crisis, adding\u00a0that despite all the challenges, talks will\u00a0continue.<\/p>\n
De Mistura gave a brief review of what was\u00a0discussed in Geneva, noting that the UN seeks to\u00a0send humanitarian aid to Syria.<\/p>\n
