the\u00a0Syrian army in demining the ancient city of\u00a0Palmyra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Putin told President Bashar al-Assad, in\u00a0a telephone conversation Sunday, that he tasked\u00a0Russian Defense Ministry to provide a wide\u00a0possible assistance to the Syrian side in demining\u00a0Palmyra, noting the importance of preserving this\u00a0unique historic site for world culture, Kremlin\u00a0spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, as reported by<br \/>\nRussia Today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Palmyra6-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-73084\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-73084 aligncenter\" on\u00a0retaking Palmyra city from terrorists and affirmed\u00a0that the Russian army will continue to support\u00a0Syria against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sana.sy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Palmyra5-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-73083\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-73083 aligncenter\" Russian contingent will participate in the\u00a0demining of the ancient city.\u00a0The two agreed that UNESCO, Russia and Syria will\u00a0soon take necessary steps to evaluate the damage\u00a0to the historic site and map out a plan of\u00a0restoring what can still be restored, Peskov\u00a0added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a that\u00a0security and stability were restored to the\u00a0ancient city of Palmyra following a series of\u00a0precise and effective military operations that\u00a0were carried out by the army units with the help\u00a0of the popular defense groups, being backed by the<br \/>\nSyrian and Russian Air Forces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a
