Damascus, SANA- Victories of the Syrian Arab Army\u00a0have been a strong and direct political and\u00a0diplomatic motive for the delegation of the\u00a0Syrian Arab Republic to the Intra-Syrian dialogue\u00a0in Geneva, Head of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar\u00a0al-Jaafari said.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the Syrian TV on Sunday\u00a0evening, al-Jaafari added we predicted the victory\u00a0of Palmyra a day before returning back from\u00a0Geneva, and I said this to some Western figures I\u00a0met.<\/p>\n
” We predicted Palmyra victory a day before we\u00a0returned home from Geneva and I told this to some\u00a0Western personalities I have met\u2026our readings\u00a0about events were proved to be right and this left\u00a0an important psychological impact on our enemies\u00a0and adversaries in Geneva,”al-Jaafari said.<\/p>\n
He added that the delegation of the Syrian\u00a0government showed discipline and worked to make\u00a0the dialogue a success and preserve Syria but the\u00a0other side was embarrassed and not ready.<\/p>\n
We have not seen one delegation of the opposition\u00a0as stipulated in UN resolution 2254 rather there\u00a0were some oppositions committed to foreign agendas\u00a0aimed at destroying the country; there are\u00a0respectable national opposition but they are few,\u00a0al-Jaafari said.<\/p>\n
He clarified that prior to each round of dialogue\u00a0there were feverish and desperate attempts by some\u00a0parties to belittle victories of our brave army\u00a0against terrorists.<\/p>\n
“The delegation of the Syrian government, during\u00a0its first meeting with UN Special envoy for Syria\u00a0Staffan de Mistura, took the lead and presented a\u00a0paper entitled main elements for the political\u00a0solution and finding common denominators with the\u00a0oppositions in Geneva to encourage them towards\u00a0the national solution,” al-Jaafari clarified.<\/p>\n
He said: ” de Mistura praised the principles\u00a0mentioned in the paper and stressed that they\u00a0can’t be ignored. Diplomatic figures praised our\u00a0seriousness while the opposition delegations were\u00a0not ready and it took 10 days to submit their\u00a0paper in cooperation with dozens of committees\u00a0and British, American, French and German experts,”<\/p>\n
Al-Jaafari affirmed that Syria is the “gate of\u00a0fighting terrorism” and many westerners became\u00a0convinced with dangers of tens of thousands of\u00a0foreign terrorists who were brought to Syria\u00a0through the borders with Turkey and Jordan under\u00a0the supervision of many countries’ intelligence\u00a0apparatus .”<\/p>\n
” There is a consensus and rapprochement between\u00a0Russia and the United States despite differences
\nregarding some issues”, al-Jaafari stated,\u00a0pointing out that Russia has a long-term political\u00a0vision and is able to conduct dialogue with all,\u00a0while Washington depends on incorrect reports\u00a0issued by the Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel,
\nTurkey and NATO.<\/p>\n
He added that Europeans don’t mind to reopen their\u00a0embassies in Damascus, but we “reject any\u00a0conditions or blackmail by them in this regard.”<\/p>\n
Al-Jafaari stressed that we in Syria, are\u00a0studying de Mistura’ s explanatory note to respond\u00a0it in the next round of talks.<\/p>\n
He clarified that the submitted paper of the\u00a0government’s delegation emphasized the importance\u00a0of preserving the government’s establishments and\u00a0the army is one these establishments .<\/p>\n
Al-Jaafari said that next round of the intra-Syrian dialogue will be set through the diplomatic\u00a0channels as it was agreed upon with de Mistura.<\/p>\n
Al-Jaafari added that de Mistura formed the\u00a0Women Consultative Council”, which contains 12\u00a0women, only two of them were from Syria, without\u00a0consulting with anyone.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that the dialogue is targeted by the\u00a0Saudi, Turkish and Qatari diplomacy because they\u00a0don’t want a peaceful and political solution in\u00a0Syria and they are able to fabricate stories that\u00a0somehow impede the dialogue such as the federalism\u00a0and other stories .<\/p>\n
