Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi\u00a0stressed that the ministry will continue to exert\u00a0utmost efforts for delivering the medical services\u00a0to those in need for them in all areas in spite of\u00a0the terrorist targeting of the health institutions\u00a0and the one-sided economic siege imposed on the\u00a0Syrian people, which has left negative impacts on\u00a0the health sector.<\/p>\n
The remarks came during the minister’s meeting\u00a0with a delegation of the Syrian American Will\u00a0Association (SAWA) on Monday.<\/p>\n
Minister Yazigi pointed to the role of the Syrian\u00a0expatriates in supporting their motherland and\u00a0conveying the reality of the events taking place\u00a0in the country to the world.<\/p>\n
He reviewed the damage caused to the health sector\u00a0due to targeting it by terrorist organizations\u00a0throughout the past five years and the\u00a0difficulties facing it while securing the\u00a0qualitative medicines and medical equipment.<\/p>\n
For his part, head of the delegation Qussai Ahmad\u00a0referred to the efforts exerted by the Syrians\u00a0residing in the USA in supporting the Syrian\u00a0people, as members of SAWA expressed readiness to\u00a0participate in providing medical aid in a way that\u00a0alleviates the sufferings of the Syrians.<\/p>\n
In the same context, Tourism Minister Bisher Yazigi met with the delegation, affirming to its members that the activities of Syrian expatriates around the world constitute proof of the depth of the Syrians\u2019 sense of belonging to their homeland.<\/p>\n
In turn, SAWA member Mounzer Ahmad said that their visit to Syria is one of the aspects of cohesion and cooperation with their fellow Syrians, adding that the visits also seeks to learn about what is happening in Syria in order to convey a true image to the world.<\/p>\n
