Lattakia, SANA – Terrorist groups breached the\u00a0cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria seven\u00a0times during the past 24 hours all in Damascus\u00a0countryside, the Russian Coordination Center said.<\/p>\n
The center, based in Hmeimim airbase, added in a\u00a0statement on Wednesday that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam targeted military positions\u00a0and a number of Damascus neighborhoods with mortar\u00a0rounds.<\/p>\n
The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came\u00a0into effect in Syria since 27 February in\u00a0implementation of UN Security Council resolution\u00a02268, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and\u00a0other groups listed by the UN as terrorist\u00a0organizations.<\/p>\n
The Russian center pointed out that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continue attempts to foil the\u00a0agreement, as they shelled several towns in the\u00a0countryside of Lattakia, Idleb, Hama and Damascus.<\/p>\n
A group of Jabhat al-Nusra, comprising of 160\u00a0terrorists, has crossed Turkish-Syrian border in\u00a0the north of Idleb province to reinforce terrorist\u00a0groups in Aleppo, the Russian center said.<\/p>\n
The center added that units of the Syrian Armed\u00a0Forces continue thwarting Jabhat al-Nusra attempts\u00a0to attack military positions in a number of Aleppo\u00a0neighborhoods, pointing out that the terrorist\u00a0shelling of the city is random and does not target\u00a0only military positions but also residential\u00a0neighborhoods, that claimed the lives of 23\u00a0civilians and injured 47 during the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n
The cessation of hostilities agreement is holding\u00a0in most Syrian areas, as the number of towns which\u00a0have joined the agreement reached 139, the center\u00a0concluded.<\/p>\n
