Lattakia, SANA-The cessation of hostilities\u00a0agreement was breached by terrorist groups three\u00a0times during the last 24 hours, raising the total\u00a0number of breaches to 689 since the agreement came\u00a0into effect, the Russian coordination center said.<\/p>\n
The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said\u00a0in a statement Sunday that terrorists of the so-\u00a0called Jaish al-Islam targeted with mortar rounds\u00a0a number of military positions.<\/p>\n
The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came\u00a0into effect on 27 February 2016, does not cover\u00a0ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated\u00a0as terrorist organizations by the UN Security\u00a0Council.<\/p>\n
Total number of towns that have announced joining\u00a0the agreement reached 155 after a town in Daraa\u00a0joined it, the center added in its statement,\u00a0indicating that the Russian and Syrian aircrafts\u00a0did not target armed groups which had announced\u00a0commitment to the agreement and reported their\u00a0locations to the Russian center in Hmeimim or the\u00a0American one in Amman.<\/p>\n
The Russian center affirmed that groups affiliated\u00a0to the terrorist organization of Jabhat al-Nusra\u00a0did not stop their attempts to block the agreement\u00a0by shelling towns of Ard al-Wati in Lattakia\u00a0countryside, Salamiyeh in Hama countryside, and\u00a0Marj al-Sultan and al-Bilalyeh in Damascus\u00a0countryside.<\/p>\n
Terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra shelled Handarat\u00a0town and neighborhoods of al-Sheikh Maqsoud, Salah\u00a0eddin, al-Zahra and Nairab airport in Aleppo.<\/p>\n
