Damascus Countryside, SANA \u2013 Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X Yazigi started on Sunday a visit to Damascus and its countryside.<\/p>\n

He presided over a mass at Mar Elias Church in Maaret Saidnaya in the countryside of Damascus, stressing in his sermon that “the one Syrian family, Muslims and Christians included, rejects the terrorism, destruction and killing practiced by the terrorists in the name of religion.”<\/p>\n

The Patriarch reminded of the two abducted bishops of Aleppo, saying they and all other kidnapped people in Syria will not be forgotten.<\/p>\n

Patriarch Yazigi’s visit will last until July 31, during which period he will pay visits to a number of cities, villages and towns and hold masses, prayers and meetings with the locals in Damascus and its countryside.<\/p>\n
