Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly held on\u00a0Sunday its fourth session for the first ordinary round of the second legislative term,\u00a0headed by Speaker Hadiyeh Abbas.<\/p>\n
Speaker Abbas affirmed that the Assembly is\u00a0responsible for monitoring the performance of institutions and ministries, detecting corruption\u00a0through providing documents and information, and shedding light on corruption cases for\u00a0accounting, adding that committees will been\u00a0formed to address any cases of corruption because the\u00a0danger of corruption equals the threat of terrorism.<\/p>\n
The strength of the Assembly is from the power of\u00a0its members and we will not be afraid of anyone, she stressed.<\/p>\n
For their part, Assembly members pointed out to\u00a0the need to improve media work and keep up with all the issues quickly and at the right time,\u00a0calling for finding a way to combat the phenomenon of abduction in some areas.<\/p>\n
They stressed on the need to monitor markets\u00a0strictly, mainly for the case of the spoiled meat products which entered the Syrian markets\u00a0illegally from Turkey.<\/p>\n
The People’s Assembly also approved its 17\u00a0permanent committees and their offices.<\/p>\n
