Tartous, SANA- Activities of the Gate of the Sun\u00a0Festival kicked off Wednesday at the Golden Sands\u00a0Complex in the coastal city of Tartous.<\/p>\n
The Festival is organized by Acuity Company in\u00a0coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and\u00a0Tartous Sports Union and lasts till August 19th.<\/p>\n
Chairwoman of the Coastal Region Chamber of\u00a0Tourism Sonia Razzouk said that holding tourist\u00a0festivals will activate the tourist movement,\u00a0emphasizing the importance of such festivals in\u00a0marketing Syria’s tourist potentials despite all
\nthe terrorist’s attempts to destroy them.<\/p>\n
For his part, Director of Tartous Tourist\u00a0Directorate Yazan al-Sheikh said that the Festival\u00a0aims at conveying a peace message from Syria to\u00a0the whole world, adding that Syria will always\u00a0remain the cradle of civilizations, the center of\u00a0beauty and the gate of the sun.<\/p>\n
Executive Director of Acuity Company Hussam al-Nafakh said that the festival carries a message\u00a0for the whole world that Syria is the cradle of\u00a0civilizations, adding that the first Olympiad in\u00a0history was held in Amrit Stadium.<\/p>\n
Al-Nafakh pointed out that the Festival was\u00a0expanded this year to include Tartous and
\nLattakia, hoping that it will include Aleppo and\u00a0Damascus next year.<\/p>\n
The festival includes various entertainment and\u00a0sport activities including beach soccer, sail boat\u00a0show, Jet Ski race, basketball and volleyball,\u00a0artistic evenings, fashion shows and electing the\u00a0festival beauty queen and launching the\u00a0construction of a Phoenician ship.<\/p>\n
