Tehran, SANA Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman\u00a0Bahram Qassemi expressed on Tuesday concern over\u00a0the continuation of Turkey’s military intervention in Syria,
\ncalling on the Turkish army to stop its military\u00a0operations in Syria as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
Qassemi underlined in a statement on Tuesday the\u00a0need for respecting Syria’s sovereignty and\u00a0territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
Despite the fact that fighting terrorism and\u00a0trying to establish security and stability in the\u00a0region is an important and firm principle sought by peace-loving nations of the region, it should not\u00a0justify violation of countries’ sovereignty, he said.<\/p>\n
The Iranian diplomat added that adopting\u00a0approaches that defy the political authority of a\u00a0county’s central government is not acceptable.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the continuation of the\u00a0presence of Turkey on the Syrian land will lead to\u00a0further complication of the situation in the region.<\/p>\n
Qassemi said that the spread of conflict in north\u00a0of Syria will lead to the killing of more innocent\u00a0people, stressing that the Turkish army must immediately\u00a0put an end to its operations in Syria.<\/p>\n
