Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey\u00a0Lavrov affirmed on Friday that the main condition\u00a0for the resumption of talks on Syria is to\u00a0implement the UN Security Council resolutions on\u00a0resolving the crisis.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the upcoming Lausanne meeting which\u00a0will be held to discuss the crisis in Syria,\u00a0Lavrov said that the attitudes are clear: Ending\u00a0violence in Syria, fighting against terrorists,\u00a0ensuring humanitarian access to people in need and\u00a0immediately launching a political process with the\u00a0participation of all Syrian components, including\u00a0the government and opposition without any\u00a0preconditions.<\/p>\n
He stressed that these principles are not only\u00a0Russia’s but are result of the international\u00a0community resolutions.<\/p>\n
The minister pointed out that he has not yet\u00a0noticed any steps towards the implementation of\u00a0the international resolutions on the part of\u00a0Russia’s Western partners.<\/p>\n
Lavrov noted that the main issue in this regard is\u00a0separating between terrorists and moderate\u00a0opposition, calling for understanding the nature\u00a0of operations that raise Russia’s concerns\u00a0represented in the integration of many factions\u00a0which describes them as “moderate” with Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and their opposition
\nto the cessation of hostilities agreement.<\/p>\n
The Russian Minister describes the talks on\u00a0ending the fighting in Aleppo first as attempts\u00a0to improve the image of al-Nusra and its\u00a0collaborators.<\/p>\n
Lavrov said that the Russian side will present in\u00a0Lausanne specific steps to implement the\u00a0agreements related to the settlement in Syria and\u00a0the UNSC resolutions.<\/p>\n
The minister pointed out that Moscow will not\u00a0suggest anything except the steps for the\u00a0implementation of previous resolutions, adding\u00a0that the UNSC resolution presents everything with\u00a0the utmost clarity.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, a meeting will be held in the Swiss\u00a0city of Lausanne about the crisis in Syria with\u00a0the participation of Lavrov, his US counterpart\u00a0John Kerry and the foreign ministers of some\u00a0countries in the region.<\/p>\n
