Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij paid a field visit to one of the military sites in Damascus Countryside.<\/p>\n

Al-Freij met the combatants during the visit and conveyed President Bashar al-Assad\u2019s appreciation for their heroism, hailing their efforts and high morale.<\/p>\n

Gen. al-Freij pointed out that anyone who takes up arms against the Syrian government and Army is a terrorist who must be confronted and eliminated.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur armed forces have vowed to continue in the resistance path till eliminating terrorism and foiling the conspiracies of its patrons and backers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

For their part, the combatants affirmed that they will continue to protect the homeland and offer whatever sacrifices needed to defend it and restore security and stability to all Syrian areas.<\/p>\n
