Lattakia, SANA Minister of Agriculture and\u00a0Agrarian Reform, Ahmed al-Qaderi and Minster of\u00a0Interior Trade and Consumer Protection, Abdullah\u00a0al-Gharbi stressed the government’s continuous\u00a0efforts to provide all requirements and\u00a0facilitations necessary to market citrus fruits\u00a0inside Syria and abroad.<\/p>\n
In their tour with Minister of Social Affairs Rima\u00a0Qaderi and Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khodr al-Salem to a number of packaging centers and citrus\u00a0farms in the province, Minister al-Qaderi called\u00a0for improving the quality of citrus fruits and\u00a0monitoring the packaging and exports processes\u00a0through specialized committees.<\/p>\n
He pointed out to the marketing guidance program\u00a0launched by the Ministry with the aim of providing
\nconsultative services to farmers in order to\u00a0increase production and ensure its suitability for\u00a0export, in addition to developing their marketing\u00a0mentality.<\/p>\n
He noted to the ministry’s communications with a\u00a0number of Russian companies interested in\u00a0importing citrus fruits from Syria, indicating\u00a0that the largest amount of production will be\u00a0marketed at local markets.<\/p>\n
In turn, Minister al-Gharbi said that a fleet of\u00a0trucks has been equipped to transport citrus\u00a0fruits from Lattakia and Tartous to other\u00a0provinces as part of the ministry’s marketing\u00a0plan, adding that citrus production is estimated
\nat 1.4 million tons.<\/p>\n
For his part, Lattakia Governor underlined\u00a0coordination between the governorate and\u00a0ministries concerned to provide all facilitations\u00a0and necessary requirements to market citrus\u00a0fruits.<\/p>\n
In a relevant context, Ministers of Social Affairs\u00a0and Interior Trade and Consumer Protection visited\u00a0Ein Jandal village in al-Qardaha countryside and\u00a0inspected small rural projects carried out in the\u00a0village, underlining the importance of expanding\u00a0such projects taking into account its contribution\u00a0to the improvement of living conditions in
\nLattakia countryside.<\/p>\n
The two ministers agreed on turning the unit of\u00a0carpet industry in Ein Qayieta town into a bakery\u00a0before the end of the current year in order to\u00a0meet citizens’ need of bread.<\/p>\n
