London, SANA – Amnesty International criticized\u00a0the US-led international coalition air strikes in\u00a0Syria under\u00a0the pretext of fighting the ISIS terrorist\u00a0organization which claimed the lives of a number\u00a0of civilians.<\/p>\n
Lynn Maalouf, deputy director for research at\u00a0Amnesty International’s Beirut office said “It’s\u00a0high time the\u00a0US authorities come clean about the full extent of\u00a0the civilian damage caused by coalition attacks in\u00a0Syria.”<\/p>\n
“We fear the US-led coalition is significantly\u00a0underestimating the harm caused to civilians in\u00a0its operations\u00a0in Syria,” Maalouf added.<\/p>\n
She went on to say that “Analysis of available\u00a0evidence suggests that in each of these cases,\u00a0coalition\u00a0forces failed to take adequate precautions to\u00a0minimize harm to civilians and damage to civilian\u00a0objects.”<\/p>\n
“Some of these attacks may constitute\u00a0disproportionate or otherwise indiscriminate\u00a0attacks,” Maalouf said<\/p>\n
French war planes of the US-led international\u00a0coalition killed more than 120 civilians and\u00a0injured tens of\u00a0others in airstrikes on the village of Toukhan al-Kubra last July.<\/p>\n
Last week, Belgium warplanes attacked the village\u00a0of Hassadjek in Aleppo province, killing six\u00a0civilians and\u00a0injuring four others.<\/p>\n
The Coalition’s war planes also targeted one of\u00a0the Syrian Arab Army sites in the surroundings of\u00a0Deir Ezzor\u00a0airport, paving the way for the ISIS terrorists to\u00a0seize control over the site.<\/p>\n
The aircrafts of the US-led international\u00a0coalition raided several key bridges over the
\nEuphrates River in\u00a0the countryside of Deir Ezzor, resulting in the\u00a0destruction of the bridges, and therefore\u00a0disconnecting the\u00a0areas located on both banks of the river.<\/p>\n
In 2014, coalition aircrafts destroyed two\u00a0electricity plants in al-Radwaniyeh area and water\u00a0pumping\u00a0stations in al-Khafseh area, east of Aleppo,\u00a0claiming hundreds of civilian lives.<\/p>\n
