MOSCOW SANA- Russia’s Defense Ministry has found\u00a0poisonous chlorine and white phosphorus in nine\u00a0samples from southwestern Aleppo, the ministry’s\u00a0spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Monday.<\/p>\n
“Experts from the Russian Defense Ministry\u00a0conducted an express test of nine samples of shell\u00a0fragments and earth from shell craters that were\u00a0taken in district 1070 in the southwestern Aleppo\u00a0suburb. They confirmed that chlorine and white
\nphosphorus were used to fill munitions,”\u00a0Konashenkov was quoted by the Russian Sputnik news\u00a0agency as saying in a statement.<\/p>\n
He added that Russian experts took bioassays from\u00a0four Syrians who were injured in the terrorists\u00a0chemical attack for detailed testing in Russia.<\/p>\n
The Russian official pointed out that the\u00a0Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
\nWeapons (OPCW) was reluctant to join forces with\u00a0Russia or send experts to Aleppo despite inviting\u00a0it to work together.<\/p>\n
The spokesman said scientists from the Russian\u00a0Armed Forces’ Radiological, Chemical and\u00a0Biological Defense Troops were gathering evidence\u00a0that prove terrorists use of chemical weapons in\u00a0Aleppo.<\/p>\n
On November 11, Konashenkov called upon the OPCW\u00a0leadership to consider the possibility of urgently\u00a0sending OPCW fact-finding mission experts to\u00a0Aleppo’s 1070 apartment’s neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The terrorist organizations used the poisonous gas\u00a0more than once against the residential\u00a0neighborhoods as they fired shells containing\u00a0poisonous gas on the directions of Minian, 1070\u00a0apartment and al-Hamadaniyeh residential\u00a0neighborhood, causing more than 48 cases of\u00a0asphyxia.<\/p>\n
