Cairo, SANA- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh\u00a0Shoukry has confirmed that all international\u00a0parties were responsible to reach a solution to\u00a0the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n
Shoukry said in a televised statement in\u00a0Washington on Tuesday, ” We see that there is a\u00a0collective international responsibility to reach\u00a0solutions acceptable to all parties and be\u00a0compatible with the interests of the Syrian\u00a0people,” stressing the importance of continuing\u00a0international consultations in this regard.<\/p>\n
Shoukry, who is in a current visit to Washington,\u00a0reiterated Egypt’s firm stance towards finding a\u00a0solution to the crisis in Syria and rejection of\u00a0the foreign interference in its internal affairs.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that\u00a0proposing a draft resolution on Aleppo for vote at\u00a0the UN Security Council was too early, asserting\u00a0that it was proposed under the request of other\u00a0countries.<\/p>\n
Russia and China vetoed a draft resolution on\u00a0Aleppo on Monday proposed by Spain, Egypt and New\u00a0Zealand, while Venezuela voted against and Angola\u00a0abstained.<\/p>\n
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement\u00a0that Cairo spared no efforts during the last weeks\u00a0to bring closer the stances of the UN Security\u00a0Council’s member states towards the\u00a0aforementioned draft resolution, but a number of\u00a0other countries insisted on proposing it for vote\u00a0before receiving consent of all the Council’s\u00a0members.<\/p>\n
Egypt stance towards what is happening in Syria,\u00a0particularly in Aleppo, is still firm as Egypt’s\u00a0top priority is the necessity of alleviating the\u00a0suffering of the Syrian people, the statement\u00a0added.<\/p>\n
