Moscow, SANA-The Russian Defense Ministry said the liberation of Aleppo eastern neighborhoods from terrorists has allowed for separating them from ‘moderate opposition’.<\/p>\n
“The accomplished operation to safely withdraw militants from [eastern] Aleppo with their families is unique, not only because the lives of nearly 10,000 Syrians were saved,\u201d said the ministry in a statement published on RT website.<\/p>\n
“First and foremost, it is about a genuine and complete separation of militants of the so-called \u2018moderate opposition\u2019 from the irreconcilable radicals, thanks to the efforts of Russian officers from the Reconciliation Center,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
The statement stressed that Moscow has managed to accomplish \u201cwhat for a year our American partners considered to be impossible to implement in practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement noted that the liberation of Aleppo had effectively opened a new \u201cwindow of opportunity\u201d to introduce a cessation of hostilities, \u201cnot only in the Aleppo province,\u201d but also in the whole of Syria, while stressing that \u201ca desire to negotiate with all parties directly \u2018on the ground,\u2019 except for terrorist groups,\u201d is key to speeding up the peace process in Syria.<\/p>\n
Attempts to replace this \u201chard work\u201d with conferences in \u201ccozy Western capitals,\u201d talking to \u201chigh representative committees,\u201d or sending in some monitoring group is \u201cuseless and a dead end,\u201d the statement said.
\n\u201cThe sooner it is realized in Paris, London, and Washington, which are so far not even capable of sending humanitarian aid to Syria, the sooner there will be peace,\u201d the statement concluded.
