Geneva, SANA – UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan\u00a0de Mistura affirmed on Thursday that the cessation\u00a0of hostilities agreement in Syria is largely holding\u00a0but there are some exceptions.<\/p>\n
The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center\u00a0monitored on the 9th of January 14 breaches of the\u00a0cessation of hostilities committed by the armed groups,\u00a0including 8 in Hama and 6 in Damascus, Lattakia\u00a0and Aleppo.<\/p>\n
According to Reuters, de Mistura said that he\u00a0understood that the U.N. would be invited for\u00a0talks in Astana on Jan. 23, aimed at deepening the\u00a0cessation of hostilities and forming some broad\u00a0political ideas, but there had been no formal invitations or
\nconfirmed dates.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that humanitarian aid is still not\u00a0getting in to besieged areas where food is running\u00a0out, adding that 23 buses and Syrian drivers, used in\u00a0recent evacuations, were being stopped from\u00a0leaving the villages of al-Fouaa and Kefraya in Idleb province\u00a0by armed groups.<\/p>\n
He added that he is concerned about the water\u00a0crisis in Damascus.<\/p>\n
