Supreme Fatwa Council in Syria holds its first session chaired by Grand Mufti

Damascus, SANA- Supreme Fatwa Council held its first session on Wednesday, chaired by Grand Mufti Sheikh Osama al-Rifai, at the National Library in Damascus.

Session participants emphasized the importance of the religious institution’s role at this sensitive stage, as it contributes to achieving national unity, consolidating social cohesion and peace, rebuilding the country, and spreading goodness among its people.

They also discussed the preparation of the Council’s rules of procedure in accordance with what was stated in the decision to form it, and based on the tasks assigned to them.
